8 Bit Pillow Project

8 Bit Pillow Project

Sorry there haven't been any new posts for a while, but I haven't had much to report on. I've gotten a good bit farther on editing my novel, I think 70 plus pages edited now so going along fairly well. I've mainly been busy getting Christmas presents made lately. I can't really discuss what they are since I want it to be a surprise for the people getting the presents. Making them has taken up a good bit of time though so I haven't really had time for many other projects. I'll talk about the presents after Christmas, they are turning out so great, I'm so excited to hand them all out. I'm almost done with all of the presents though so I'm starting to plan my next sewing project. My next project is going to be making quilted pillows with 8 bit images on them.

I've just started the planning today for the layout of the pillows. Since I'm doing quilted pillows the 8 bit images work great to add a picture made up of squares. To plan out how to set everything up I got some graph paper to break down  the number of squares that I need and to layout how I want the image to look. It's working great so far, I have easily mapped out the images and now I can start figuring out the dimensions for everything. I haven't decided yet how many pillows I'm going to make, originally I was thinking two but now that I've been drawing things up I'm kind of wanting to do more.

The first one I'm going to do is the Pinky ghost from Pac-man. My husband's not so fond of the pink ghost and he wants Inky instead, so I may have to make him a blue ghost too. I'm thinking though that I may make all four ghosts and Pac-man, but that would be 5 pillows and possibly a lot of work. Not really sure that we need 5 pillows anyways, so I'll probably end up just doing 2. I also thought to do Goomba and mushroom pillows too, but that's going to get into a lot of pillows. It's hard to decide which ones I want to do.

This pillow project is in preparation for doing an 8 bit image queen sized quilt. I figured starting small would probably be best. I'm still not entirely sure what image to do for the quilt either, originally I was thinking Yoshi or Link. After some Pinterest searching though I got the idea to maybe do a Tardis instead. It's too hard to choose, but I'll come up with something eventually. I'll be sure to fill you in along the way and show you pictures when I'm all done.

As always thanks for reading. Hopefully I'll write more soon.
